Red Fox Squirrel Nymph
Description
Stone Creek™ Red Fox Squirrel Nymph
The Stone Creek™ Red Fox Squirrel Nymph is a highly effective attractor pattern inspired by Dave Whitlock’s renowned Squirrel Nymph. Combining natural squirrel fur movement with a buggy profile, this versatile fly consistently produces trout in rivers, streams, and tailwaters throughout the year.
Available in both Standard and Bead Head versions, the Red Fox Squirrel Nymph effectively imitates a variety of aquatic food sources including mayfly nymphs, crane fly larvae, caddis pupae, and emerging insects. Its lifelike appearance and subtle movement make it especially productive when trout are feeding subsurface but are selective about their prey.
Whether fished under a strike indicator, as part of a tandem nymph rig, or through euro nymphing techniques, the Red Fox Squirrel Nymph is a proven fish-catching pattern that deserves a place in every fly box.
