Caddis flies have four stages of life… egg, larva, pupa & adult. The Caddis goes through a Complete Metamorphosis and its life cycle is more like a moth than a mayfly or stonefly.
This pattern is the third stage, the pupa so closer to an adult and larger and heavier than the larvae.
